TUALATIN UNITED METHODIST CHURCH
THE HILLTOP CHURCH
Christian Education For All Ages
Lifelong learning is the key to Christian Education. Questions and inquiry are needed for all of us to grow.
At TUMC, no one needs to hold back an opinion. Sharing freely liberates us to use the gifts that God gave us; minds, intellect, wonder and more. We are here to embrace the diversity of God and embrace a new way of life as we follow Christ's example.
For more than 200 years the United Methodist Church has been in the vanguard of higher education, planting colleges and universities all across our nation. Hundreds of schools were built and established by the early United Methodist movement and continue today including schools such as: Willamette University, University of Puget Sound, Cornell University, Duke University, Southern Methodist University and more. The Methodist Church pioneer, John Wesley himself, valued an education being both a medical doctor and clergy.
Join us for a variety of classes: women's bible studies, men's book study and discussion group, general book studies, Bible study with the Pastor, children's Sunday school, field trips, workshops, basic theology classes, community gardening, music, mission and more.

Here at TUMC we are still growing in our faith and embracing new life as Progressive Christians:
It is ancient past, present and future
It is being true to the values of God and the realities of life
It is biblically based but not frozen in time
It takes Christ seriously but doesn't necessitate exclusitivity
It sees science as a good thing and worthy of the minds God gave us
It encourages us to ask questions and ponder doubts as part of God's ongoing revelation in the world
It is deeply rooted in loving God and loving others while making the world a better place for ALL people
It is not about some heaven and hell after death - it is about working for heaven on earth, right here and right now
It is about transforming lives and the world
It is having "what you say" match "what you do"
It is respecting people of all faiths
